Becoming a Ride Leader

Ride leaders are the heart and soul of VO2 Velo. They are the welcoming committee for prospective new members, they introduce riders to the many splendors of our region, they set the standard for safety, and they inspire all of us to higher levels of fitness. If you have ideas for new rides, or would like to see rides departing from different locations, please consider becoming a Ride Leader.

Ride Leader Training

VO2 members who want to become Ride Leaders must attend a short familiarization session. A review of the information in the Ride Leader guide and an opportunity for questions and answers are part of the session. Also, acquaintance with the various reports and records required by our insurance company is mandatory.

Requirements For Becoming A Ride Leader

• Be a current VO2 Velo member
• Have familiarity with the Ride Leader Guide
• Have participated in VO2 Velo rides
• Attend a Ride Leader Certification Session
